36-0

All streaks must come to an end, and our streak came to a halt tonight.  We ran into a good football team.

– Auburn head football coach Tommy Tuberville, following the Tigers’ 36-0 loss to archrival Alabama

Burns Wilson

The last time Alabama beat Auburn, Kodi Burns was a seventh-grader in Arkansas. John Parker Wilson was a 10th-grader at Hoover High in Birmingham, Ala.

Tubs can be nothing but humble about the loss, and after so many years of AU dominance, the hatred between the two schools remains, but a little respectability has been injected back into the rivalry.

The University of Alabama student section, soaked with whiskey, sweat, and joyful tears, went berserk following their beloved team’s victory.  The last time seniors in that student section saw ‘Bama beat Auburn, they were pie-faced junior-high 9th-graders.
