Auburn Hires Ted Roof as Defensive Coordinator

On Tuesday afternoon, Auburn head coach Gene Chizik tabbed Minnesota assistant and former Duke head coach, Ted Roof, as his defensive coordinator.

Similar to the widespread fear after the election of Barack Obama as the nation’s next President, angst spread quickly when Auburn hired Gene Chizik as its next head football coach.

Like Obama, however, Chizik has stilled many jitters by hiring several excellent assistants to help him. There’s Roof as DC. And of course, Gus Malzahn, who will be coaching Tulsa tonight in the GMAC Bowl, as offensive coordinator.

But the supporting cast is impressive as well. The latest additions to the AU coaching staff:

Curtis Luper
